2012 SPORE Project

Sandy East Mushrooms

The SPORE Project http://dougrhodehamel.wordpress.com/category/1-spore-project/ is an international community based, installation art project, where people are invited to "plant" paper bag mushrooms and upload images as part of the project.
For the past 2 years I and the junior school students from Sandy East, have participated in the SPORE Project. This year was no exception.
The students from Prep to Grade 2 all created their own paper bag mushrooms and decorated them using tempura paints and small stickers and adhesive papers. All up for had over 220 mushrooms that we "planted" in the Prep garden at school. The mushrooms don't last very long. May in Melbourne is windy and wet so our beautiful display wilts fairly quickly, but we have our memories and our fabulous pics.
I've uploaded some of them for your pleasure.
